Halloween look

We had our halloween party again this year and I was a witch, as usual ;D I bought some new makeup stuff yesterday for this look. Well, better late than never. LOL It's not very traditional to celebrate Halloween in Finland this way  but kids of course love it :) When I was a kid, we never celebrated Halloween.

Kaveri järjesti eilen Halloween-juhlat, johon osallistuimme koko perheen voimin. Minä oli tietenkin taas noita, joka vuosi sama juttu. *heh* Nyt päätin ostaa hieman lisää Halloween-meikkejäkin, tosi ajoissa olinkin asialla ja eilen kiiressä juoksin kaupasta toiseen ;) 

I needed darker lipliner, I was planning of buying black lipliner from Inglot but it was sold out... I took this cool red intead and it worked well! I just applied black lipstick (MAC Black Knight) & black lipgloss (Inglot Sleeks no 99) over it.

Ajattelin  ostaa Inglotin mustan  huultenrajauksen mutta se oli loppuunmyyty  ja omat kaapit pullollaan vain nudesävyjä. Päädyin sitten tähän viileään punaiseen, joka toimikin oikein kivasti! Laitoin päälle MAC Black Knight Cremesheen-punaa (LE) ja Inglotin mustaa Sleek Cream-kiiltoa (no 99).

I also bought Inglot AMC lip&eye pencil, because I don't have black primer and I think it's a must if you want intense and opaque black lids. This jumbo pencil was easier to apply that gel liners but I had to use small brush to apply the color to the inner and outer corners. I also suggest that you should NOT wear it on lower lashline. It didn't stay well there.

After I used Inglot AMC lip&eye pencil as a primer, I applied eyeshadows from MAC She who Dares Mineralize duo. I didn't have to time to apply fake eyelashes :P

Ostin myös Inglotin AMC lip&eye pencilin, koska minulla ei ole mustaa primeriä ja se on mielestäni hyvä mustan luomivärin alla, muuten ei tule tarpeeksi läpinäkymätön ja tasainen tulos. Tämä jumbokynä oli ihan helppokäyttöinen (helpompi kuin geelirajaukset, jotka kuivuvat nopeasti). Levitin värin reunoille pienellä silveltimellä, kynällä en sanut tarpeeksi tarkasti. Tätä kynää ei kannata laittaa alaluomelle, minulla ainakin levisi todella helposti silmien alle, vaihdoin sitten tilalle mustaa silmänarajuskynää.

Musta pohjustuksen päälle laitoin molemmat sävyt MAC Mineralize duosta She Who dares (Venoumous Villains LE). Vihreää liikkuvalle luomelle ja sinistä "varjostukseksi".

I also bought MAC Briar Rose beauty powder (Venomous Villains) and used it as a blush yesterday too. I've wanted to buy for several weeks and now there was only a few left, I had to get it. It is lovely and because it a Beauty Powder, it's huge too :D

Ostin myös MAC Briar Rose Beauty Powderin, tämäkin Venomous Villains-kokoelmasta, käytin sitä meikissä poskipunana. Olen tätä katsellut jo usemman viikon ja nyt jäljellä oli enää muutama... Ajattelin, että jos en nyt ota, jään kyllä varmasti ilman ;) Ihana on ja valtavan kokoinenkin (10g).

EOTD with bareMinerals Sugar Plum

I got bareMinerals Sugar Plum eye shadow from Jennifer when we met in Hong Kong. Thank you  :) This is fact my first BE eyeshadow and at least the color couldn't have been more perfect. This shade of plum is just so "me" and I love to use this color with light green. If you think this combo is too colorful, plum looks great with beige and baby pink too. The color is not that unique but still very pretty. Description says this should be "metallic" but I think it's not... It has some shimmer so it's not matte, but still not shimmery either. In fact I liked this one, it's very pigmented. It looks chunky in the jar, like my MAC pigments.

Sain bareMineralsin Sugar Plum-luomivärin Jenniferiltä, kun tapasimme Hong Kongissa :) Tämä on itseasiassa ensimmäinen BE-luomivärini ja väri ei olisi voinut olla täydellisempi minulle. Tämä luumunsävy on ehdottomia suosikkejani väriltään ja niitäpä onkin minulle kertynyt ;) Käytän sävyä mielelläni vaaleanvihreän kanssa mutta esim beige tai vaaleanpunainen käyvät hyvin tälläisen sävyn seurana, jos tämä tuntuu liian värikkäältä. Erityisen uniikki tämä BE:n sävy ei ole mutta oikein nätti ja pigmenttinen kyllä. Kuvauksen mukaan tämän pitäisi olla "metallinen" mutta en ole ihan samaa mieltä... On tässä kimallusta eli ei mattakaan ole. Purkissa tämä näyttää kokkareiselta, kuten MACin pigmentitkin.

It was very nice to try this brand too, because it's one of the few sold in shops also here in Finland. Not everybody wants to buy from the internet. I have tested their foundation last spring but contains bismuth oxycloride and I got rash immediately and matte version contains silica, so I cant use it either.

Oli ihan kiva testata näitäkin :) Bare Minerals on yksi niistä harvoista merkeistä, jota myydään kaupoissa (Kicks) täälläkin. Meikkipohjasta en välittänyt ollenkaan, kovin hohtava ja bismuth oxycloride sai ihon kutiamaan ja kukkimaan. Matte-versiota en viitsi edes testata tiedän jo että silica tekee saman... Kyllähän nämäkin monelle sopivat mutta herkkäihoisille en suosittele, silloin parempi voisi olla esim. Emani Mineralsin pohja.

Perfume memories: LouLou by Cacharel

I used LouLou by Cacharel in 80's and I've wanted to repurchase it for several years now. This scent is not available in Finland anymore, but when I saw it in Parfumie Douglas in Germany, I just had to get it! I still love this scent so much, but unfortunately the bottle is quite far from stylish ;)

Tuli sitten hankittua ehta kasarituoksu Saksasta ;) Cacharelin LouLou oli suosikkini 80-luvun lopulla, Suomesta tätä ei taida enää saada. Olen aivan hulluna tähän tuoksuun, jota en osaa edes kuvailla mitenkään... Alla kuitenkin tuoksun tarkemmat kuvaukset englanniksi. Pullo on valitettavasti vähemmän elegantti. Muistatko sinä tämä tuoksun?

Bye bye Allure of the Seas!

We are of course very pround here in my town about the shipyards. The newest ship, Royal Caribbean  Allure of the Seas, will leave Turku today. It was supposed to leave early this morning but it's too rainy & windy at the moment. Yesterday Turku was very international city, a lot of foreigners with Allure of the Seas Start Up Crew jackets :D It was nice. I hope someday I'll visit one of these lovely boats in Caribbean. The ship will go to Florida, it should be there 11/11.

We are also so happy that a new order was just made, for local Viking Line, so the ship will be smaller ;) It's very common to travel between Finland, Sweden & Estonia by boat. If you ever visit here, you might want to try that too!

Whipped shea & some random pictures

I had whipped shea with olive from Vihreä Kosmetiikka (=Green Cosmetics) last winter but I tried some cheaper ones meanwhile... Unfortunately the ones I tried were not as soft as this one so this time I bought it again. Last time I had olive & shea but this time I wanted to try rose & shea :) I use this on my kids cheeks and even my hands. This is so soft and melts on skin, I love it! I've heard that it's easy to make whiped shea but I'm just too lazy. LOL

Minulla oli käytössäni tätä Vihreän Kosmetiikan vaahdotettua sheaa viime talvena mutta tässä välissä testailin halvempia versioita... Eivät valitettavasti olleet kuitenkaan yhtä hyvin kuin tämä ja nyt hankin taas talvea vasten uuden. Viime kerralla käytössä oli oliivi-versio mutta nyt haluasin testata ruusua :) Käyttelen tätä kuivalla iholla, esim. lasten pakkasen kuivattamila poskilla (sekin aika taitaa taas pian olla edessä :P). Vaahdotettu shea toki kuluu tavallista nopeammin mutta toisaalta käyttömukavuus on ihan eri luokkaa: tämä suorastaa sulaa iholle!  Kuulemma tätä on suht helppo tehdä itsekin mutta itse ostan ihan mielläni valmiina. *heh*. Tuotteen hinta on noin 15€ ja omani ostin Ruohonjuuresta. 

I really started to have a problem with my deodorants... I'd like to use natural ones but most just are no effective enough and some just stain black clothes too badly. This time tested Rexona Crystal "clear pure" and it really seems to be better with black clothes. I hope this "clear pure" would be unscented but unfortunately not, allthough the scent is ok and not too strong. Let's see if can I use this for longer pediods but at least in the moment I like it :)

Dödöt alkoivat tuottaa ongelmia, jotenkin tämä aika on ihan mahdoton: joskus on todella kylmä ja välillä taas lämpimämpää (=liikaa vaatteita). Ekodödöjä olisi kiva käyttää mutta tehot eivät aina ihan riitä ja samoin nyt erityisesti olen harmitellut sitä, että moni tahraa mustat vaatteet. Kaupasta mukaani tarttui Rexona Crystal "Clear Pure"-tuoksuna ja tämä tosiaan on parempi mustien vaatteiden kanssa :) Jotenkin toivoin tuoksutonta nimen perusteella mutta sitä ei valitettavasti ollut, ei kuitenkaan liian vahvakaan tuoksu. Ehkäpä siis kestän sen ja toivon, että ihokin tätä sietää... Eli ainakin vielä tykkään tuottesta, mahd. ihottuma toki muuttaa tilannetta ;) Aika moni deodorantti ei minulle sovi, valitettavasti.

Ja Sistustuksen PopShopista (Ruohonjuuren vieressä Turussa) tarttui mukaan tämä pussukka kananmunille. Syömme niitä melkoisesti ja tämä oli vain niin söpö!

Oi että muuten sieppaa "vapaan kanan munat", olen nyt pariin otteeseen törmännyt sellaisiksi väitettyihin ja kas kummaa, kanalan tunnus onkin häkkikanala :P Kananmunisa on siis leimat: 0FI=luomu, 2FI=lattiakanala ja 3FI=häkkikanala. Jatkossa suosin mahdollisuuksien mukaan luomua :) Kuvassa olevissa on toki luomutunnus, olen noihin häkkikanalamuniin törmännyt nyt useampaan otteeseen irtomyynnissä.

[review] The All Natural Face

I bought these The All Natural Face pigments last winter but somehow I never started to use them so I guess it's about the time now ;) I also made you a little TANF-TKB comparison bacause one of my friends thought these could be quite similar. In fact after looking at the baggies, I thought these might be, but I'm not at all worried about that anymore! And if the company makes lipsticks, cream concealers etc, why wouldn't they make the eyshadows which are probably the easiest to make :D The names of the pigments are not that unique but I really like them: It's easy to pick Green ice storm, Purple ice storm etc in the morning!

Ostin nämä The All Natural Face-pigmentit jo viime talvena mutta en jostain syytä alkanut pigmenttejä silloin käyttää, ehkäpä on siis jo korkea aikakin ;) Tein myös pienen TANF-TKB-vertailun, yksi kaverini vain sanoi näiden kovasti muistuttavan TKB:n sävyjä. Itse asiassa katsottuani näytepussukoita, pelkäsin jo pahinta... Mutta onneksi olivat erilaisia, jopa erilaisempia kuin kuvassa näkyy. Firma tekee itse myös huulipunia, voidemaisia peitevärejä jne, miksei siis tehdä kaikkein helpoinkin tuote itse? Itse ainakin käyttelen näitä nyt hyvillä mielin :) Värien nimet eivät ihan uniikeimpia ole mutta toisaalta helpottaa kovasti aamua, kun värin nimi vastaa sävyä!

-Mermaid's choice-Soft Aqua: not even close :) The base color is quite similar but SA is boring and matte, MC is lovely & vibrant.
-Peacock Green & Apple Pop look very similar, also irl, but AP is more golden.
-The blues are not similar, I unfortunately don't have name for the TKB blue (it's a sample I got for review purposes from a friend and the label got lost).
-The greens are not at all similar.

The colors I like most are "ice" or "ice storm" colors, these all are very lovely pastel shades. The dark colors are lovely & pigmented too. Samples are still very cheap, $0.35 each, and packed in baggies. You can find the TANF from here, I bought mine from Etsy last winter.

Pidän erityisesti Ice- ja Ice Storm-sävyistä, kauniita kimaltavia vaaleita. Sopivat meikkiin kuin meikkiin! Tummatkin olivat kauniita ja pigmenttisiä. En pian enää uskalla tehdä uusia arvoita vanhoista pigmenteistäni, nytkin kävi niin että uusi tilaus lähti eteenpäin. Hupsan ;D Onneksi en yhtään luomiväriä ostanut, niitä riittää... Postailen uusista tuotteista (mm. meikkipohja, primer, voidemainen peiteväri, huulipuna) kunhan saapuvat mutta tässä vielä muutama meikki kera TANF-pigmenttien.
